My Platform
Radical Transparency & Accountability
My highest priority as a board member is building trust.
I will advocate for policies that move BCSD toward an “open-by-default” culture—where financial transactions, contracts, bids, calendars, and other public records are easier to access, more searchable, and shared in modern, machine-readable formats. I believe transparency can be achieved affordably using open-source tools, automation, and community volunteers.
Clear, Consistent Communication With Families
Parents should never feel lost in the system.
I will push for district-level policies that strengthen communication—such as ensuring families have a clearly identified point of contact and that inquiries are tracked so they don’t fall through the cracks. I believe new families deserve a smoother onboarding experience, and I’ll support initiatives that make navigating the district simpler and more predictable.
Extracurriculars & Community Engagement
Strong schools are built with strong community partnerships.
I will champion policies that expand opportunities for students by encouraging volunteerism, strengthening partnerships with civic groups, and increasing awareness of clubs, activities, and youth organizations. Many people in our community want to support our students—they just don’t know how. I want BCSD to be intentional about connecting those dots.
How I Approach Every Other Issue
Steady, thoughtful, and student-centered.
While these three issues are my primary focus, I will approach all topics with the same principles: responsible budgeting, preference for lower property taxes when possible, avoiding abrupt policy shifts that disrupt families, prioritizing real safety over “security theater,” ensuring volunteer processes are practical, and continually reviewing whether central office resources best support classrooms. I believe in celebrating our successes while being honest about areas where we must improve.
